Nehemiah: Rebuild the Walls

A solo strategy game of courage, cooperation, and rebuilding.

Jerusalem’s walls lie broken. The work is demanding, supplies are limited, and the people need encouragement. Can you bring the community together and finish the task?

Created by Marcus Draper, Nehemiah: Rebuild the Walls invites you to gather resources, assign workers, protect supplies, and restore six sections of Jerusalem’s defenses.

“Let us rise up and build.”
— Nehemiah 2:18, KJV

Build Together. Stand Together.

Every turn brings decisions. Who will gather stone? Who will bring timber and food? How many people should build, keep watch, or encourage their neighbors?

Your goal is to complete 18 building stages across six rebuilding sites within 12 turns, while keeping the community’s morale above zero.

The campaign represents the 52-day rebuilding period recorded in Nehemiah 6:15, using simplified strategy mechanics. Supplies carry over between turns, workers become available again, and changing events invite you to adjust your plans.

Sometimes the best next move is another building stage. Sometimes it is making sure everyone has enough to eat.

What’s Included?

  • Six rebuilding sites: Restore the Sheep Gate, Fish Gate, Valley Gate, Dung Gate, Fountain Gate, and Eastern Wall.
  • Worker assignments: Divide your people among gathering, building, keeping watch, and encouragement.

  • Turn previews: See the expected results of your assignments before committing.

Inspired by Scripture

This game draws inspiration from Nehemiah 2–6, particularly its themes of shared work, perseverance, preparation, and encouragement.

The board is not a historical map. Worker counts, resource costs, events, and the turn system are fictional gameplay elements. Morale represents the community’s readiness to continue working—it does not measure anyone’s faith.
