Mustard Seed Mercantile

A solo game of faith
“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” MATTHEW 17:20 · KING JAMES VERSION

The Story

Ancient Galilee, in the days of Jesus. You are a new settler who has poured everything you own into a small shop making wooden toys for children. Most of your neighbors are too poor to buy, and the shop is on the verge of closing.

Will you trust the Lord — keeping the Sabbath, paying the tithe — or rely on yourself? Every week’s ledger tells the story of where your faith lies.

How It Plays

A solo game for one shopkeeper, about 30–45 minutes. Each week you roll for customers, choose Sabbath rest or work, tithe or keep, and draw a story card. Grow in Faith and Reputation — or cut corners and watch the Trials gather.

1 · Trade

Roll for customers each week. Festivals and seasons shift your fortunes.

2 · Choose

Close for the Sabbath or stay open? Tithe your earnings or keep them?

3 · Draw

Story, Scripture, Blessing, and Trial cards shape each week — with verses for every circumstance.

4 · Decide

At week 7 comes THE DECISION: where does your trust truly lie? Four endings await, from Citizen of the Kingdom to Ruin.
