HERO-ISH

“The roads are dangerous. The monsters are many. The pay is terrible.”

A Solo Epic-ish Dice Adventure — Travel the wilds, fight monsters with poker-style dice hands, assemble an unlikely party of heroes, and haul trophies back to town before your luck runs out.

Original game Hero-ish created by TechDweeb. This playable web version is presented by Marcus Draper — Marcus did not create the original game.

The Map — TechDweeb's Original

This is the actual hand-drawn map from the original game, shown large so you can read it. Portrait tokens sit on the map's ✕ markers — click a glowing adjacent location to move there; each move costs 1 coin. If you can't pay, you starve. Defeated monsters are crossed out forever. Game Log

Welcome, hero-ish. Choose a difficulty to begin.

Meet the Bosses

All 13 monsters of the wilds, drawn in the same black-and-white ink style as the original map. Study their required hands and fight values before you set out — bosses you've defeated are crossed out here too.

How to Play Hero-ish

Defeat monsters on the map and return to Town to collect your reward. Defeat all 13 monsters and return to Town to win.

1. Move

Move along a road to an adjacent location. Each move costs 1 coin. If you cannot pay, you starve — game over. Landing on an undefeated monster starts a fight.

2. Town

On arrival you automatically cash in all trophies (1 trophy = 1 coin) and your tired heroes leave. Then you may hire up to 2 new heroes and/or gamble at the Tavern.

3. Heroes

Yes, the original says “dice” where it should say “die.” The creator doesn't care. Die is stupid. Dice is better.
