Gather the Manna: Dice Game

Enough for today. Ready for the Sabbath.

A new morning dawns in the wilderness. Your household needs provisions, the day is growing warmer, and a decision awaits: keep what you have gathered or roll again?

Created by Marcus Draper, Gather the Manna is a free, single-player dice game inspired by Exodus 16. Guide your household through three weeks of gathering, sharing, and preparing for Sabbath rest.

Five dice. Thoughtful decisions. A fresh journey with every game.

Roll. Gather. Prepare.

Each gathering day begins with five dice and up to three rolls. Keep useful dice, reroll the others, and decide when you have enough.

But watch the heat! Rolling a 1 locks that die for the day. Three heat dice end your rolling, leaving you with the portions still showing.

Your goal is to provide for your household through 21 days, keeping resilience above zero. Shortages reduce resilience, while extra provisions can earn sharing points.

Sometimes another roll helps. Sometimes knowing when to stop is the better choice!

A Double Portion—and a Day of Rest

Days one through five focus on today’s needs. Ordinary leftovers do not carry into the next morning.

Day six is different: gathered portions count double. Feed your household, set aside provisions for the Sabbath, and share any remaining surplus.

On day seven, the dice rest. Your household uses the provisions saved the day before.

That rhythm of gathering, preparation, and rest runs through all three weeks of your journey.

Inspired by Scripture

Exodus 16 describes daily gathering, the double portion before the Sabbath, and the call to rest.

Gather the Manna draws on those themes while using fictional dice mechanics to create a replayable challenge. Heat dice, resilience, numerical portions, and scoring are game rules—not measures of faith or statements that God’s provision depends on chance.

Help Me Make It Better

This is an alpha release, and your feedback can help shape future updates.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Did the difficulty feel right? Was preparing for the Sabbath clear? Did anything look wrong or stop working?
