Face the Trials — Spades and Clubs
Wilderness crossings and hardships test your endurance. Face them directly or use an eligible provision to reduce the cost.
Choose Your Provisions — Diamonds
A staff, lantern, or traveling kit can help you continue. Replacing equipment and managing its limits are central to your strategy.
Receive Restoration — Hearts
Hospitality, shared meals, and quiet rest restore endurance. Only one restoration card works per stage, so timing matters.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
How do I learn to play?
Choose Practice for a guided opening hand. Equip the 6 of diamonds, face the 9 of spades with that provision, then receive the 5 of hearts. How to Play explains the full rules and scoring.
Does the game save my journey?
Yes. The PC edition saves progress on your computer. The web edition saves in your browser when browser storage is available. PC and web saves are separate; clearing browser data can remove web progress.
Do I need a physical deck?
No. Both editions include the cards, artwork, and game controls.
How do I start the Windows version?
Download the ZIP, choose Extract All, and open Steadfast.exe. The game requires .NET Framework 4.x, normally present on Windows 10 and 11.
What happens if I run out of endurance?
That attempt ends. Choose New Journey to shuffle the deck and begin again. Every attempt gives you another chance to learn the rhythm of the cards.
