Your story begins in Galilee

Choose your character's name and livelihood, explore a living village, talk with its people, and decide when to lend a helping hand. This interactive fiction adventure is based on Marcus Draper's solo journaling game The Way: A Journey of Faith.

The journey we're building

I · The Life You Know

About this early release: The playable v0.1 alpha currently provides character creation and the opening village experience. The later chapters shown above are the planned full adventure and are not yet playable.

Getting started: create your character

Step 1: Open the adventure, click inside the story window, and at the > prompt type your character’s name and press Enter.

Step 2: When the six livelihoods appear, type a number from 1 to 6 and press Enter. Your adventure then begins in Capernaum.

How to play

After character creation, Use text commands such as LOOK, NORTH, EAST, TALK TO WIDOW, HELP NEIGHBOR, JOURNAL, and HELP. The story responds to your actions.

Faith, fiction, and freedom

The game is told from a Christian perspective. Biblical events remain fixed; your fictional character's decisions and relationships are yours to explore. Helping others is meaningful, but no score or dice roll determines faith or salvation.
