2. In Command Prompt run: py -m pip install pillow
3. Double-click PLAY_THE_HOUR_BETWEEN.bat.

OPTIONAL: BUILD A SINGLE EXE
Double-click BUILD_WINDOWS_EXE.bat after Python is installed. Your EXE will be in the dist folder.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:
- Name your character and fictional town.
- Real-world PC clock with four illustrated dayparts.
- Branching story, secrets, clues, deaths, and three endings.
- Stress meter and context-dependent story details.
- Autosave to %APPDATA%\TheHourBetween\save.json.
- Death screen: black screen, YOU ARE DEAD; restart appears after 5.5 seconds.

NOTES:
- This is an initial playable chapter-network prototype, not the complete 10–12 chapter game.
- Illustrations are bundled original programmatically drawn atmospheric backgrounds.
- Daypart uses the local computer time, not local sunrise/sunset calculations.
- The game is fully offline and does not access the network.
- Windows display scaling and very small windows may require maximizing the game.

ALPHA 1.1 FIX: Corrected Tkinter title panel height (was 310 text lines), so player and town fields are visible. Corrected death restart button geometry.
