Steps along the way

    WELCOME, PILGRIM

A little wisdom for the road

Survive a 44-card journey with 20 life. Clear every card to finish.

    1. Read the four cards. Resolve three in any order, then enter the next room. The unchosen card travels with you.
    2. Equip diamonds (2–10). New equipment replaces the old equipment and resets its trial limit.
    3. Face trials (♠/♣, 2–14). With equipment, lose trial strength minus equipment strength, minimum zero. Without it, lose the full trial strength. J=11, Q=12, K=13, A=14.
    4. Watch the limit. After an equipped battle, that equipment can only face a strictly weaker trial than the last one. Its strength does not decrease. Fighting without equipment does not change the limit.
    5. Receive a blessing (♥, 2–10). Only the first blessing per room heals, up to 20 life. Additional blessings are discarded and still count as actions.
    6. Take another path. Before taking a card, put all four cards under the deck and draw again. Never skip twice in a row. You cannot skip the final room.
    7. Finish the road. When the deck empties, resolve every remaining card. Win with life above zero. At zero life, the journey ends.

Scoring: On victory, score your remaining life. If you finish at 20 with a blessing as your final card, add its value. On defeat, score raw remaining life minus the strengths of all unresolved trials.

First move: An equipment card is often a useful start. Read the damage shown on each trial before choosing. Try “Give me a hint” whenever you need direction.

A Christian thematic adaptation of Scoundrel by Zach Gage and Kurt Bieg. Uses a strict descending equipment limit and requires clearing the final room. No account or installation required.
