Roll 3d6 for an uncertain action. Results 1–3 are Chicken; 4–6 are Eldritch. A mix always succeeds.
When your type's special quirk applies, roll 4d6 and choose one die to discard. The remaining three determine the result.
All Chicken: the action fails and you lose one trait. If you already have no trait to lose, you are captured. Losing your last trait alone does not capture you.
All Eldritch: the action fails and you choose a new trait. If you already have all six traits, you transcend and leave the mission.
Chickens understand one another. Speaking to humans requires Voice of The Other; you can still communicate through gestures and signs.
Explore the map freely. Complete three preparations: uncover a clue, recruit an ally, and open the route. Then secure your objective and escape through the entrance. Failed actions can be retried. No health points, timers, or extra penalties are added.
Each location offers ordinary actions and actions for powers you currently have. A quirk approach grants the fourth die. Recruited allies reveal a safe escape route, allowing a four-die escape check.
You can play alone or take turns making decisions around one screen. This is not online multiplayer. The guided missions and scripted outcomes are additions to Elliot Davis's freeform tabletop game.
Progress is saved locally on this browser. Export a save to move it to another device. A captured or transcended bird can be replaced to continue the mission.
