CALLED TO FOLLOW: A DISCIPLE'S JOURNEY
Solo PC Edition 1.0.0 - Windows 10/11, 64-bit (x64)
Created by Marcus Draper | deskatur.com

GET STARTED
1. Right-click the downloaded ZIP and choose Extract All.
2. Open the extracted Called-to-Follow-PC folder.
3. Double-click Called-to-Follow.exe.

Keep the complete folder together. The EXE needs the included resources,
locales, and runtime files. Do not run it from inside the ZIP or move only
the EXE. No Python, Node, .NET, API key, or separate browser installation
is needed. The game and its artwork are bundled for offline play.
Optional linked Bible passages open in your normal browser and need internet.

You may make a Windows shortcut to Called-to-Follow.exe for easier access.

PLAY
Choose one of the twelve disciples. Read the scene, choose a writing path,
and write one sentence or more. Help Me Begin offers a sentence starter.
Mark the scene complete and continue when you are ready. All Scenes lets
you revisit and edit earlier entries. There is no timer and no dice.

TELL MY STORY
Use Tell My Story to arrange your entries into chapters. Add a title,
dedication, and final reflection. Save PDF opens a native Save dialog.
Print My Story opens printer options. Download My Story saves plain text.
Your own words are preserved; no online AI service rewrites your journal.

SAVING AND MOVING YOUR JOURNAL
Your writing saves in your Windows account here:
%APPDATA%\Deskatur\Called to Follow\Journals

The Journal menu has Open Journal Folder, Download Backup, and Restore Backup.
The active file is journal.json. journal.previous.json is a recovery copy.
If the active file is unreadable, the app tries the recovery copy and preserves
the unreadable original. Replaced journeys are retained in the Archived folder.

Download a backup regularly. A .json backup works with both the PC and web
editions. To switch devices, download the backup and restore it on the other
device. These editions do not synchronize automatically. Download a backup
before restoring another journal. Restoring requires confirmation.

There is one active journal per Windows user account. Use backups to switch
between players, or use separate Windows accounts. Updating or moving the
game folder does not move or delete the journal in your Windows account.
To remove the game, close it and delete the extracted game folder. Your
journal remains in the location above unless you remove it yourself.

CONTENT
All 24 scenes, twelve disciples, writing prompts, and three watercolor
illustrations are included. Judas's first-person journal ends after Scene 15.
Continue as an observer, with an optional Matthias chapter from Scene 23.
Scripture references and imaginative writing are kept distinct.

BUILD AND TEST STATUS
This is the first PC build. The Windows executable and bundled runtime were
packaged and checked for completeness. Journal persistence, recovery,
archiving, imports, exports, and all 288 disciple/scene views passed automated
logic and DOM checks. Native save/PDF calls were tested with a simulated host.
The executable has not been launched on Windows in this environment. Actual
Windows display, printer operation, and PDF layout need a first playtest.

The executable is not code-signed; its publisher is not verified by Windows.
Do not disable antivirus or device security to run software.

LICENSES AND SOURCE
Electron and Chromium third-party notices are in LICENSE and LICENSES.chromium.html.
The game source is readable in resources\app. Developer build notes and test
scripts are included under Source. No multiplayer rooms or chat are included.
